Let’s obtain one point clear. There are all type of fake sorts of confidence out there. After all, the whole idea of devising up until you make it is in fact still preferred in the USA. A great deal of individuals are under the perception that as long as you look effective, that’s all that matters. Actual success will ultimately overtake you. Likewise, there are no lack of individuals who think that as long as other individuals buy into the suggestion that you know what you’re speaking about after that this is comparable to the genuine thing. These are the kinds of individuals that make a big deal out of formal titles or one’s positioning on any kind of sort of business graph. The concept is that your role specifies you. Simply put, if you bring a title, your title in some way some means bestows some kind of instant capability on you.

Obviously, as everyone knows, all this is a fallacy because there’s an extensive distinction between appearing like you understand just how to do things as well as in fact being able to provide. Regretfully, we have a society that is so stressed concerning self esteem that it relates it with self self-confidence which becomes a false type of confidence.

Polycarbonate is definitely a long-lasting material. Even for sharp angle bends with a tight radius, no heating is usually necessary. This makes it valuable in prototyping applications where transparent or electrically non-conductive parts are important, which should not be produced from sheet metal. Be aware that PMMA/Plexiglas, that is similar in looks to polycarbonate, but is brittle and cannot be bent at room temperature.

The light weight of polycarbonate, compared to glass, has led to advancement of electronic touch screens that replace glass with polycarbonate, for use in mobile and portable devices. Such displays include newer e-ink and a few LCD screens, though CRT, plasma screen and other LCD technologies generally still require glass for its higher melting temperature and its ability to be etched with finer detail.
Other miscellaneous items manufactured from Polycarbonate include durable, lightweight luggage, MP3/digital audio player cases, computer cases, high impact riot shields, instrument panels, and common style blender jars. Many toys and hobby goods are made out of polycarbonate parts, e.g. fins, gyro mounts, and flybar locks for use with radio-controlled helicopters.
For use in applications exposed to weathering or UV-radiation, a special surface treatment maybe needed. This can be a coating (e.g. for improved abrasion resistance), or as a coextrusion for enhanced weathering resistance.

In a manufacturing process called injection molding, the pelletized resin is heated until they melt in to a thick liquid. 10 TIPS TO GET THE MOST PROTECTION FROM YOUR SUNSCREEN

With so many sunscreen choices on the market, it can feel overwhelming as to which sunscreen to use. I believe that having basic knowledge of how they work and understanding what the claims mean (SPF, broad spectrum, etc.) is important so you can make the best sunscreen decisions for yourself and your loved ones. 

What type of sunscreen should I choose?

When choosing a sunscreen, it is important to know that there are basically 2 types of sunscreens: Chemical and Physical/Mineral

Chemical sunscreens (oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, or octinoxate) undergo a chemical reaction with the UV rays, absorbing them and then release the extra energy as heat. The sunscreen's chemical reaction is only for a limited amount of time. Hence, you will have to reapply every 2-3 hours to ensure you are still protected. 

“Physical” or “Mineral” sunscreens (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) create a barrier of protection that reflect and scatter the UV rays. What is great about these sunscreens is that as long as the barrier is intact, meaning you haven't sweated or wiped it off, you will not need to reapply as frequently. However, it is always a good idea if you are intentionally exposing yourself to the sun (beach day, boat ride, sports event, etc.) to be sure to reapply every 2-3 hours just to be sure you are fully protected. Emme Diane Tinted Mineral SPF 40 and Illuminating SPF 58 are both zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreens.
Note: while zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are marketed as physical sunscreens, to be accurate, both are inorganic chemical compounds with varying chemical properties. Meaning, they are also technically chemical sunscreens. Also, while zinc oxide is a mineral, when it comes to skincare and sun protection, the zinc oxide found in sunscreens is synthesized in a lab and does not come from a mine.

What does ‘Broad Spectrum’ mean?

Broad spectrum, which you have likely seen on your bottle of sunscreen, means that the sunscreen protects against both UVA (the "aging" rays that cause damage and cancer) and UVB (the "burning" rays that cause a sunburn). It is important to know that titanium dioxide only protects against UVB rays so you will want to make sure that it is mixed with a UVA blocker, such as zinc oxide or other chemical sunscreens, which will block both UVA and UVB rays.

What does the ‘Sun Protection Factor’ (SPF) mean?

When choosing a sunscreen, most of us tend to reach for the highest SPF rating so that we get the longest and best protection. However, you will be surprised to know that an SPF 30 vs. a SPF 40 only offers less than 1% more protection. Additionally, a 100 SPF is incrementally lessl. This means that an SPF 30 virtually offers the same amount of protection that a 100 SPF does. The key behind guaranteeing your protection lies in proper application and reapplication, rather than how high the SPF number is.  

The basic calculation for an SPF is based upon how many minutes of sun exposure it takes for your skin to burn when exposed to the sun without sun protection. As an example, let's say it's 10 minutes. Your “burn” number is multiplied by the SPF of your sunscreen (let’s say this is a 30 SPF) which equals how many minutes of sun protection you will receive from one application. In this case, it would be 10 x 30 = 300 mins or 5 hours.

I find this equation to be flawed as it does not account for the elevation you are at, how close to the equator you are, the time of day when the rays are the strongest, the UV index based on the time of year, how much sunscreen is applied and it definitely does not account for sun damage which causes aging. Therefore, to simplify, I suggest that you make sure to wear a minimum of SPF 30 and reapply every 2-3 hours (sooner if you have been in the water or swimming). This will ensure you are protected from both a sunburn as well as sun damage that causes aging on the skin.

How much sunscreen do I need to apply?

The SPF protection will only be effective if you apply the correct amount of sunscreen. If you apply too little or too thin of a layer, it can be a fraction of the protection you were counting on.

For the face, aim for a nickel size amount. Or if using Emme Diane Tinted Mineral SPF 40 or Illuminating SPF 58, you will need 2 full pumps.

For the body, 2 Tablespoons is the correct amount per application. This is equivalent to 1 shot glass full. Click here for more info about how much to apply.

How often do I need to reapply?

As far as reapplying your sunscreen, there are certain rules that must be followed.

If you are wearing a chemical sunscreen (oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate to name a few), which has a short-lived chemical reaction with your skin to protect against UV rays, you MUST reapply it every 2-3 hours in order to be protected from the sun’s rays. Yes, EVEN if you are wearing makeup and it’s just a normal day. Bummer, right? With zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreens, it's still a good practice to reapply every 2-3 hours when you are outside as you may have sweat or wiped it off, but the protection itself lasts as long as it is intact on the skin. This is why I advocate for zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreens for the face.

At Emme Diane, our Tinted Mineral SPF 40 and Illuminating SPF 58 are both zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreens that create a physical barrier on the skin. On an average day, without sweating, swimming or wiping it off the face, the protection will generally last all day. 

For the body, I generally prefer chemical sunscreens as the sunscreen ingredients are not easily wiped off by sand, the strap of your swimsuit or the kiddos grabbing you every 5 seconds!

However, new information has recently come out about chemical sunscreens found in the bloodstream, and while more will be revealed as to if there is cause for concern, there are also great zinc oxide/titanium dioxide sunscreens for the body that are water/sweat resistant.

Isn’t the SPF in my makeup enough?

While it seems like this should be sufficient, unfortunately there is a marketing loophole when it comes to SPF claims in makeup and moisturizers. While the SPF number is what is added to the makeup or moisturizer, diluted in the other ingredients, it would be a fraction of the protection you are expecting.

Also, most women are not applying a thick enough layer of foundation or powder to give the skin much sun protection at all. Therefore, it is very important to apply a sunscreen on your face before makeup application. My Mineral Tinted SPF 40 feels and acts like a makeup primer so it is amazing before you do apply your makeup!

Also, if you layer on an SPF 15 moisturizer, SPF 40 sunscreen and SPF 20 foundation, you would expect that you are wearing a total of 75 SPF, right?

Unfortunately, this is not the way sunscreen works. The total SPF limit is based on the highest number of SPF you are using, not the additive number. So again, it is best to use a sunscreen for your sun protection and be sure to apply the proper amount for full protection.

But what about my Vitamin D?

You've also probably heard that you need sun exposure to produce Vitamin D which is essential for your health and well-being. Unfortunately, many take this statement too far and don’t realize that you only need 15 minutes of sun exposure on 25% of your body per day to receive the correct dosage. On an average day, you are likely getting much more than this. Also, it is important to know that after reaching the production limit, too much sun exposure will actually destroy Vitamin D and decrease the levels of Vitamin D in your body. Most people are Vitamin D deficient because the soil our food is grown in has become nutrient deficient. Therefore, it is a good idea to ask your doctor to test your Vitamin D levels to see if you do need to supplement with Vitamin D.

What if it’s cloudy or stormy outside?

Many people think if it is a cloudy, stormy day, they don't need to wear their sunscreen. This is one of the biggest skin myths of all! Let's look at it from a commonsense standpoint: what lights up the earth? The sun. And even if it is a stormy day, is there still enough light for you to see your hand in front of your face? You bet! This means that the most damaging and aging UVA rays are still very present and in some cases, reflect off of water particles causing them to intensify. So, it is a myth that you do not need sun protection if the sun is blocked by clouds! Come rain, sleet or snow, please apply your sunscreen!

What if I don’t leave my house?

As you probably guessed, my answer remains the same, apply your sunscreen daily to protect your skin. Interestingly enough, certain types of light bulbs can actually emit low levels of UVA light that could be aging your skin. What else can I do to protect my skin from the sun?

While many believe that simply wearing sunscreen is sufficient, if you are serious about vigilantly protecting your skin from the sun, below are additional ways you can increase your sun protection:

Seek shade. If you must be outdoors for a prolonged period of time, try to stay in a shaded area. Under a pop-up tent if you are at your child’s soccer game or in a cabana or under an umbrella by the pool or beach.

Wear sun-protective clothing. There are many stylish UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) clothing/swim cover ups these days, such as Cabana Life. Also, a wide brimmed hat is a must as are large lens, polarized sunglasses with a UV filter to protect the eyes.

Enjoy foods that help protect your skin from UV damage, including fish that is rich in omega-3’s, dark leafy greens and cruciferous veggies, red, orange, blue and purple fruits and vegetables and green tea to name a few. Also, studies have shown the Vitamin D3 in the form of Nicotinamide (found in the supplement Heliocare*) helps maintain your skin’s ability to protect itself against the aging effects of free radical damage from the sun.

Coming Full Circle - The Greenleaf Series Finale

This post will contain spoilers so, for those who have yet to see the Greenleaf series finale be forewarn.

 

The final episode of Greenleaf was full of emotions from the beginning to end.  The episode preceding the finale had Bishop suffering from a stroke and left the audience wondering if he would survive.   In the beginning of the finale we see Lady Mae lying next to the Bishop’s body and we realize that the Bishop has passed away.  We see the family crying and lying with the Bishop’s body and then we see the family at the gravesite as the Bishop’s casket is being lowered.  The Bishop’s death was really sad and emotional for anyone who is a Greenleaf viewer.   I will say that I was not totally surprised by his passing, because before the season started all the trailers were playing the song ‘Going Up Yonder’ and I figured someone was probably going to die this season.   I was still disappointed that the Bishop had to die and he and Lady Mae did not get a chance to remarry.

No Mans Sky PS5 - Honest Full Honest Beyond Testimonial

Well, three years later, Hello Games has launched the fifth massive update for this now-thriving game, Beyond. There is more than enough content here to warrant a review, and thus, we present to you our No Man's Sky Beyond review.

As with previous massive updates by Hello Games, the launch wasn't bug-free by any means. Players who have stuck with the game this long should know by now to backup their save games before taking the plunge into Beyond. But Hello Games has been busily applying patch after patch, fixing production bugs that their limited testing would have never found prior to release. While PC gamers receive these updates first, they serve as a testing ground for console gamers, who get the more polished version of these patches thanks to the more stringent certification process at Sony (and presumably, Microsoft). The result has been, in less than a week, an update that has been patched multiple times, at a furious pace that makes AAA development studios look as slow as molasses. This responsiveness is the double-edged sword of small-team development.

The crux of No Man's Sky Beyond deals with three tiers: a bunch of quality-of-life updates brought No Man's Sky up to version 2.0, online gameplay has been greatly expanded and streamlined into the experience, and VR support has been added across multiple platforms, including the PSVR. That last tier is perhaps the most exciting and is, in my opinion, a headset seller. It's really that big of a difference.

If any VR doubters ask for just one game to play to really showcase the wonders of VR, it is now No Man's Sky, full stop. Yes, No Man's Sky is the killer VR app we've all been waiting for.

Most in-game menus and prompts are clear, and the player can physically lean forward to read smaller fonts. But objects beyond approximately a meter or so are not very detailed. Yet, our brains are very quick to adapt to things, and this blurriness is no different than any other hindrance. Most players should have no problem getting used to the visuals within a few hours. Personally, I also turned off the vignette effect and turned on smooth movement and rotation, but this will come down to not only preference, but physical ability to handle full VR without getting motion sickness.

It does seem as though this blurriness can possibly be overcome, on the PS5 Pro at least. While playing in VR, I noticed that my PS5 Pro's fans weren't particularly loud. This usually indicates that the system isn't being very taxed. (Editor's Note: This is speculation based on an educated guess and may not actually be indicative of how much the system is being taxed.) Perhaps another patch may release in the future to give PS5 Pro players a slightly larger high LOD field around them. Even an extra meter or two directly in front of the field of vision would make a world of difference. Oddly, the blur doesn't appear to be as evident in the video being fed into the television from the processor unit, though this may simply be due to the distance from the average viewer to the pixels on the screen as opposed to viewing distance on the headset.

Blurriness aside, the entire widely-expanded No Man's Sky experience has been transformed in this VR mode. All previous updates, from Pathfinder, to Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, and of course, Beyond, can be experienced in first-person VR. For those that own the hardware, this will be the best way to play the game. Our brains are so easily fooled, that even though much of the world is blurry, that doesn't make the sense of scale any less overwhelming in No Man's Sky. Suddenly, those 5-meter tall dinosaur-looking "Diplos" become outright scary up close, even if most of them are gentle giants. Caves become claustrophobic, while even passing clouds get your brain's attention. Part of the quality-of-life upgrades in Beyond included a larger scale to the spaceships and other vehicles, and it shows in VR. The medium-sized exocraft, for example, has tires that are as tall as an average person, something that definitely wasn't clear before! Jumping off from anything of even a modest height will produce that tingling feeling in one's stomach, like that of being on a rollercoaster. Every. Single. Time. It never gets old.

Even previously mundane things are seen in a whole new light in No Man's Sky. No Man's Sky has always been a chill-paced game in a fast-paced world, and this VR mode seemed to invoke a desire in me to slow down and bask in my surroundings for just a little longer. In one of my play sessions over this first weekend with the Beyond update, I didn't even leave the system I started in, since each planet and moon had a ton of unique aspects to take in, though the increased amount of things to do in the game itself certainly had something to do with this.

While No Man's Sky can be played in VR with a DualShock 4, it can also be experienced with the more visceral Move controllers. Moving can be done teleportation style, or by a combination of walking forward with the left Move button, strafing by rotating that same controller, and turning with the right Move controller's cross and circle buttons.

A special control scheme also shows up once in any ship (as well as the Nautilon submarine), where the player's hands must physically grip the throttle on the left, and a joystick on the. The land-based exocraft vehicles control more like all-terrain craft, and task the player with rotating their hands as if they were using a virtual steering wheel. All of these specialized control options mean that even veteran No Man's Sky players will need a few hours to get used to everything, but time spent learning the systems now will result in a much more tactile, rewarding experience later.

A side effect of the Move control scheme is that dogfighting has become much more enjoyable. An increase in the default speed of ships during combat helps to prevent the player from becoming a sitting duck, though combat remains easy. Indeed, past a certain point, fights are not very challenging, as the player's ship is overpowered for most battles. Only the sentinel ships pose a threat at that point. Even with the ease of battle, in VR rolling and firing, evading and locking on are visceral audiovisual treats, and some of the most intense VR action can be found in space. Those who have ever been motion sick from VR may want to take heed and turn on the vignette option prior to blasting off, though. Perhaps a future update will revamp No Man's Sky's space combat systems as much as the other systems-with Hello Games' now-stellar track record, I wouldn't bet against the possibility!

Managing inventory or bringing up the quick menu with the Move is now done by physically raising the left hand, and pointing to options with the right, and pointing to the multi-tool in the right hand manages that instead. While physically pressing the corresponding trigger selects items, so too does simply pointing and "touching" the in-game interface as though it were a massive, floating touchscreen. This is an unexpectedly immersive result of using such precise controllers, and something that is much quicker than using a DualShock 4.

Okay, okay, enough gushing about the VR mode (and how there needs to be a bundle with the headset now because it would absolutely be worth the price of entry to experience). What about other aspects of No Man's Sky? How have they been improved? Well, for players new to the game, or those who left it while Hello Games was quietly (and perhaps unknowingly) preparing their redemption after a turbulent launch, tutorials have been revamped to help make the crucial first few hours more enjoyable. There's a new Catalogue tab, which explains every material and usable object players will encounter, with information on where to find them or how to craft more. Upgrade trees now show players what their options will be for upgrading their exosuits, ships, exocraft, building parts, and more. This also allows players to tailor their early game hours with more exploration, survival, combat, or trade-focused upgrades, so they can play the game exactly how they wish.

Planets now seem to generate more varied flora and fauna, and while the universe hasn't been reset this time, more intense color schemes can be found, and wild plants now also grow where before there may have been nothing. These plants can be harvested, which can be combined with other materials and animal products to discover one of over 300 recipes, varying in name from the mundane refined flour, to the in-joke Grahberry or the hilarious yet ominous-sounding Haunted Pie.

Other improvements come in subtle but useful ways, such as resource stacks now having an upper limit of 10,000. This means you can (and should) collect all the Di-Hydrogen crystals (and other materials) you see as you travel, because you can carry an effectively limitless amount of the stuff, which is needed for many craftable and rechargeable items. For those wary of a grind, new hyperclusters are occasionally collected from crystals and asteroids, which can be analyzed to quickly dump a good additional chunk of the resource into your inventory, saving some more time on building up a large stash of resources. The recharge cost of weapons and equipment has NOT gone up, so spending a few minutes collecting a bunch of resources will pay dividends for hours.

The quintillions of worlds that populated No Man's Sky's endless universe have always felt ironically unpopulated, outside of multiplayer. Now, most NPCs can be seen walking around, as they pull out tablets to interface with a local trading terminal, bring out a holographic toy, or even sit and converse with other NPCs in their strange languages. It felt strange at first, having played the game all these years with essentially static NPCs, but within a few seconds it also seemed natural, as if the game had been like this the entire time.

For social gamers, the Nexus is where they'll want to head to in No Man's Sky. Most of No Man's Sky's updates have incrementally upgraded and expanded the Anomaly.

Rather than being randomly stumbled upon during gameplay, the Anomaly can now be summoned at-will in space, and, unless the player's game is set to offline (yes, you soloists can still play everything offline), docking opens the game to up to 15 other players, who will come and go as they please from and to their own games. The Nexus also allows players to visit each other's bases, with a space for Hello Games to share particular bases of note globally, which will be an exciting space to watch, especially as the game has introduced electricity and logic to its building parts, which as any LittleBigPlanet or Minecraft fan knows, can result in some crazy automated creations.

Unlike the NEXT update, which showed other players as orbs unless in a group, full characters are rendered at all times, including customizations. "Ambient" players can be encountered as well, meaning as gamers approach the center of a galaxy, they may just run into another random traveler, as small of a chance as that may be. Other player ships are rendered as well, so those who have managed to hunt down a so-called "Squiddy," the rarest and perhaps most powerful ships in the game, can show those off.

No Man's Sky Beyond really has brought everything promised to players, and then some. This can not be stressed enough: No Man's Sky Beyond is a killer VR app on any platform, but it is a showcase-worthy example on the PSVR.
